3rd MusPA RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris would like to invite lecturers and postgraduates students of the faculty to present papers in the research areas of music, dance and theatre in the 3rd Music and Performing Arts Research Colloquium (MusPA) 2014. This colloquium is an annual academic activity organized by the faculty and provides a platform for faculty lecturers and students to present research work and share new knowledge and innovations in the fields of music, theatre and dance.

BACKGROUND

The 2014 Music and the Performing Art Research Colloquium (MusPA2014) is an annual colloquium, organized for the second time. In line with the vision of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris to strengthen the area of research, publication and commercialization of the university, academic staffs are engaged in conducting research funded by grants from various sources such as the University Research Grant (GPU) and grants from the Ministry of Higher Education suc as Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), Exploratory Research Grant Scheme (ERGS) and Prototype Research Grant Scheme (PRGS) from 2011 until now.

 

This colloquium will provide a space for academic staff and postgraduates students to share and communicate ideas, paradigsm, results and outcomes of research that has been completed or is still under progress. It will enable the development of local traditional, modern and contemporary forms of music, theatre and dance locally to be shared, communicated and presented.

 

The proceedings of the 3rd Research Colloquium (MusPA) 2014 will be published both in print and as an online proceeding on the website of the faculty. This will contribute to scholary discourse on music, theatre and dance in Malaysia.
